You may claim for under “ Cutting your Trip Short” for your pre-booked expenses if the cutting short of your trip is necessary and unavoidable as a result of:
The unexpected death of, or sudden serious injury or illness of, your, or your travelling companion’s relative who is resident in Australia and who is in Australia at the time the event occurs.
You may also claim under “additional emergency expenses” for your reasonable and necessary additional accommodation, meal and travelling expenses incurred after departure that are over and above what you had originally budgeted to pay, if your trip is disrupted, or you are required to return to your home in Australia, because of:
